Experiencing tubular hostel in DaLat
Dec 20th 2015.
Experience, that’s what the young owner, Nguyen Quang Khai (30 岁) always wants his customers to have when they come to The Circle a small hostel with guestrooms built in the tubular type, located on a small hill on Dang Thai Than, 大叻市.
The experience he refers to started first from the tubular rooms. Once by chance, he found a tubular model overseas and paid a special attention to it. But it is the 4-5 star hotel very expensive and for the up-market. From there, it has dawned upon him the idea of building cheap tubular hostels in Da Lat his hometown. The Circle has ten tubular guestrooms of the same size, same design and same interior decoration, 然而, every guestroom has a different color, with youthful and lively look.
Every guestroom is a”tube” of 2m diameter, 2.5m long, wood-paneled interior and 1-bed layout, a wardrobe and a shoe rack, an electric fan, a luggage rack The interior design model is almost identical to the’tiger cage” 要么”pupa” hotel, but The Circle is designed completely in a special style. Since this is a totally new construction model, he found it difficult to find building workers. Together with some friends, he made the castings, bought cement, 铁, steels and started casting tubes himself. “Initially the castings were damaged several times, but gradually they were well done. 一切 3 days we cast one tube, after that we joined two tubes together to get a big pipe”Khai said. Guests are free and comfortable in their room. Due to tubular designs, the hostel has an outside toilet area, very close to the rooms. The toilet area has separate toilets and separate bathrooms, equipped with hot water facility to suit the climate of Da Lat.
Khai has a preference for back backing, and has travelled with his friends to many beautiful places. He says: “Back-packers’ top priority is to choose to stay in dorms in the city so they can look for exciting experiences and save money. 然而, it is synonymous with being cramped for space, and lack of privacy. It is why this hostel was born- partly from the idea of bringing a unique stopover, with many original experiences at reasonable price to connect those who like travelling, share the same passions for mobility”.
To be clearer, if you stay in a room on single basis, the rate will be VND 200,000/night; VND 250,000/night for two people VND 300,000/night for three people. Another experience tourists can find here is the open space, very close to nature. The Circle has no walls surrounding the hostel as often found in other hotels, and lodgings. But here, the tubular guestrooms sit near the lush valley filled with sunshine and winds. The door and window are made of glass so tourists can easily see bushes of reeds and clusters of wild sunflowers in full bloom and the sunny streaks of sunshine stretching towards the pine forests. On rainy day, at The Circle, tourists can enjoy the peaceful air of Da Lat to the full, lying in bed reading an interesting book or sipping a cup of tea coffee, listening to the music, rolling themselves up in a blanket, sniffing the cold fresh air and watching the rain. According to Khai, Da Lat is a special memory in the heart of tourists just by simple things like that. And he also wants to share it to everyone when they come to this place.
The Circle always tries to help tourists to experience a space where people from strange places, without knowing each other, can sit together by the camp fire, sing a folk song together, and take a sip of wine, and share their own stories. Then on leaving The Circle everyone keeps nice memories of the land of mist.
