Dalat attracts tourists by not only its natural landscape but also its typical heritages which have been preserved in the city.
Heritage of French architecture in Dalat
Dalat is considered as “Le petit Paris” thanks to its public constructions (of about 1,500 villas in the city) which were built in different historical periods, of which most are of French architecture with typical villas, palaces which modeled different constructional style of many areas of France.
Dalat is also a place of many French heritages in Vietnam with various famous constructions, such as Yersin Secondary School (now Dalat Teacher Training College), 大叻火车站, main Cathedral, Domaine Church, Geography House, palaces of French officers, and Nguyen Dynasty in Le Lai St, Tran Hung Dao St, Nguyen Du St and some other streets in the city. Each construction reflects its owner’s hobby and lifestyle of his/her region of France. Tourists are absolutely attracted by European constructional styles, which are both luxurious and ancient, of all the villas in Dalat with various types of architecture as well as their garden surrounding.
