Heritage of French architecture in Dalat
Dalat is considered as “Le petit Paris” thanks to its public constructions (d'environ 1,500 villas in the city) which were built in different historical periods, of which most are of French architecture with typical villas, palaces which modeled different constructional style of many areas of France.
Dalat is also a place of many French heritages in Vietnam with various famous constructions, such as Yersin Secondary School (now Dalat Teacher Training College), Dalat Railway Station, main Cathedral, Domaine Church, Geography House, palaces of French officers, and Nguyen Dynasty in Le Lai St, Tran Hung Dao St, Nguyen Du St and some other streets in the city. Each construction reflects its owner’s hobby and lifestyle of his/her region of France. Tourists are absolutely attracted by European constructional styles, which are both luxurious and ancient, of all the villas in Dalat with various types of architecture as well as their garden surrounding.

Woodblocks of Nguyen Dynasty
Traveling to Dalat, most tourists love to visit The National Archives Centre IV in Da Lat City – Tran Le Xuan Palace to admire precious books and documents made from woods under Nguyen Dynasty of Vietnam. This is the largest place preserving woodblocks of Nguyen Dynasty with 34,618 sheets. They were all finely carved on wood as manuscript of books and documents issued by National History Department of Nguyen Dynasty in 1920s as well as records at Van Mieu Quoc Tu Giam (Hanoi) brought from Hanoi to Hue in 1940s by order of Minh Mang King. Dans 1960, these priceless woodblocks were brought from Hue to Dalat Warehouse Representative for preservation. Maintenant, all of them are kept at National Archives Centre IV and introduced at Tran Le Xuan villa at No.2 Yet Kieu street, Dalat, Vietnam.
