Back country where more than 40 years ago ravaged by war, Stephen amazed at the change in Vietnam. He shared that the reason he returned to Vietnam, take snapshots of innovation in life after years of war and chat with the local people is because 2015 is very meaningful for him – Vietnam celebrate 40 years of war pushed far away.


40 years, has no trace of the destruction, ruin and poverty in this little country. Through his lens, Vietnam show up with serenity, simplicity. The photos he took, mostly scenes of ordinary life of the people around all roads of the country. For so doing, the viewer feel that he sending messages about a country with friendly people, eager labor and diligence.


That may be immature face, pure eyes of a little girl highlands, her face was spattered dirt. Or an old man was 82 years old warrior but still lucid recounted heroic tales of yore. It was the smile of people’s honest hard work. All are vividly portrayed through the lens of Stephen.


Not gaudy or choose things too spectacular, Vietnam in the eyes of American visitors are just daily life painting. But then, what is the hardworking, loving work of man here but resilient. Seemingly everywhere, Hanoi where the country’s capital, or magnificent Saigon, till the Mekong River area is also easily caught the likeable, charming and lovely.
