Clouds hovering over the town appears on beautiful weather days

Sa Pa town is about 33 km from Lao Cai city center. Colorful clouds hovering over the town often appear in the beautiful sunshine day with clear sky and in the warm spring days. Sometimes they only appear a few hours and then dissolve with the sunlight. Therefore, clouds hovering over the town is considered a “specialty” of Sapa.

On sunny days, without fog, clouds condensed in the valleys and then moving into the town, the villages and mountains of Sa Pa formed beautiful clouds.

Photographers stand on Ham Rong Mountain to take pictures of clouds

With many professional photographers, the cloud hovering over villages of Sa Pa is considered an interesting topic to satisfy the passion of creating photos. The locations that people can feel the most beautiful clouds hovering over Sa Pa town are the Ham Rong mountain, the way to Hang Da village of Mong people in Hau Thao commune, about 3-4 km south or on the top of O Quy Ho pass, being adjacent to the two provinces of Lao Cai and Lai Chau.

During the recent “photo hunt” trip, photographer Nong Thanh Toan (Hue) and his colleagues came to Sa Pa. It was lucky on the occasion of beautiful sky and yellow sunshine in the late autumn, when the foggy town changing seasons to the days of freezing cold winter.

Mr. Toan selected the Cloudy area on Ham Rong mountain with the height of about 1.800 m to take picture Sa Pa clouds in the early morning, afternoon and even evening hours in the day.

Beautiful painting of Sa Pa in the clouds

In that beautiful day, the “sea of clouds” merged with the golden sun and fluttered in the breeze, just like the silky white strips of silk flying across the hillside.

The white of flying clouds contrasts with the green of the hills and mountains that is as high as the cloud creating a beautiful Sa Pa painting like the European landscape.

In the evening, clouds hovering over the Sa Pa town brings a more magical and mysterious beauty.

“Sa Pa, when the season is changing, there is still a little yellow sunshine, which is as beautiful as a picture of water and mountain, with pure white clouds interwoven each other in the air. Coming to Sa Pa at any time, in every season is beautiful, but perhaps the most beautiful occasion is at the time when the cloudy hovering over town.” – Toan shared with us.

Ham Rong Mountain has the highest point of 1,850 m, this is one of the most beautiful and poetic view point to see scenic landscape in Sa Pa tourist area. In order to come here, visitors go to the central square of Stone Church. Behind the Stone Church is the road leading to Ham Rong mountain tourist area.

From “the cloudy sea”, tourists will see the panoramic view of Sa Pa town hidden in the clouds, the Muong Hoa valley is looming, Cat Cat village and the beautiful terraced fields on Ta Van village.

Other spots to visit on Ham Rong Mountain

In addition to the cloudy area, on Ham Rong Mountain, there are many beautiful landscapes for tourists to visit and take photos such as Orchid Garden, Peach Tree Garden or Heaven Gate. At the Heaven Gate, visitors will see more clearly the shape of the dragon’s head – the characteristic of the mountain as the name of Ham Rong (the dragon’s head) Mountain….
