Transportation from Ho Chi Minh City to Vung Tau

Vung Tau coastal city is only 125 km from Ho Chi Minh City; this is a great place for your short trip. Currently there are 3 vehicles for your trip: motorbike or car, coach and hydrofoil.

Motorbike or Car

The route 1: You go along National Highway 1, passing Dong Nai Bridge, you will meet a traffic roundabout (Vung Tau crossroads, formerly called Vung Tau fork), and from here you turn right along National Highway 51. Go further About 100 km is Vung Tau City.

The route 2: From Ho Chi Minh City, you can choose the route from Cat Lai ferry (District 2, Ho Chi Minh City) to Nhon Trach (Dong Nai). This road section will lead to National Highway 5, section of gate to Nhon Trach Industrial Zone. This road is closer than about 20 km.

In addition, for tourists who drive their own cars, it is possible to choose the route to Vung Tau via Long Thanh – Dong Nai highway, which will help shorten the distance to Vung Tau with only about 2 – 2.5 hours.

Note: Time to go to Vung Tau by motorbike: 3 – 3.5 hours.

Coach

The giant statue of Jesus

The statue of Jesus spreads his arms and stands on the top of Vung Tau’s Nho Mountain, built in 1974. The statue is 32 meters high, arm span 18.3 meters long on a height of 170 meters overlooking the sea. Inside statue, there is a staircase of 133 steps up to 2 hands of the statue. The statue can be thought of as a similar version of a statue of Jesus in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Niet Ban Tinh Xa

Linh Son Co Tu

Linh Son Co Tu is the oldest temple in Vung Tau. In the main hall, there is a 1.2m high Buddha statue with stone sculpted very cleverly, creating a compassionate and lively looks on the Buddha’s face.

Hon Ba
