Summer is the time of Dalat’s avocados. Nutrients of this kind of fruite will bring you pleasure in summer since its peak is in the time of the summer vacation.
Avocados are highly valued thanks to its rich nutrients and multi-usages which could be used as fresh fruits, delicious dishes, cooking oil, or particularly in beauty care.
Dalat is the land for many kinds of avocados, but the most delicious one is yellow avocados which are often large in size. Its skin is green and slightly rough. Its taste is fleshy, sweet and fatty. It is easy to peel the skin of this kind of avocados; so we can enjoy it anytime.
Avocados can be used as gifts for far away friends thanks to its long post-harvest life. We can store them in as long as 60 days. Therefore, avocados could be perhaps called the “green gift” of Dalat for your friend all over the country.

Dalat avocados: You can buy avocados in any shop in Dalat market or houses in Dalat. At present, it may cost from VND 20,000 to VND 30,000 per kilogram.
Ice Cream Avocados: Ripe avocados, after peeled, are smashed and mixed with condensed milk. Then, pour mixed avocado and milk into a glass; put ice cream into the glass and cover the avocado with coconut juice and teaspoon of durian juice. Enjoy your time with Dalat avocado!
Avocado salad: Cut peeled avocados into pieces. Cut onion into pieces, and soak them in vinegar (or saline) in 15 minutes. Cut tomatoes into pieces. Then, mix avocado, tomato and onion with salad sauce (sugar-vinegar-spices-cooking oil (about 3 teaspoons of olive oil) and garlic). After 15 minutes, you can enjoy your avocado salad.
Avocad soup: Mix avocado, garlic, cumin, onion, parsley, and lemon juice into a blender and grind the. Pour the mixture into large bowl and aad water and stir the mixture. Add a little of salt. You can enjoy it hot or cold. Greasy taste of avocado dish will please you.
Avocado with fried pork: Slice pork an marinate it with fish sauce, pepper, garlic and spices. When the meat is well fried, put small pieces of avocado into a saucepan; set the fire low and well mix the food. The fat of avocado and meat will create a strange taste for this wonderful dish from Dalat fruits.
